Now that I finally laid my old juicer to rest, I went on a quest for the best budget-friendly juicer. Usually, I’d head to Amazon, but processed_2021-01-25-020855164.jpgCrate and Barrel had a sale on juicers, so I looked there.

My last juicer was bulky and a little difficult to clean. So there were a couple of features that were important to me this time:

Since I juice a lot of celery, finding a juicer that was heavy-duty enough to process celery without stripping it of its nutrients.

The Medical Medium recommends using a masticating juicer to get the most benefit from your juiced fruits and vegetables. So this type of juicer was my initial criteria. However, the price range for these tends to be a bit higher.

I ended up finding a centrifugal juicer that has the capacity to preserve more nutrients. The Breville Juice Fountain Cold juicer is technically a centrifugal juicer. However, it uses a “Cold Spin Technology” to keep more vitamins and nutrients in tact in the juicing process.

After reading about the cold spin technology, I thought this particular centrifugal juicer was worth trying. You can find more information about masticating vs centrifugal juicers here. Breville makes both types of juice machines, by the way.

Great Reviews

Honestly the reviews were a bit mixed on this one. There were a lot of great reviews, but there were some with a few concerns.

One of the concerns was the quality of this juicer because it has sort of an acrylic top. Fortunately, after a few years of use, I haven’t had any issues. In fact, I think the acrylic makes it easier to clean.

Breville is also known for its quality juicers, so I thought it was a pretty safe investment especially since it was on sale.

Easy to Clean

This juicer is extremely easy to clean, and I’m able to put most of the parts in my dishwasher. It doesn’t have as many small crevices for food to get trapped. It even comes with a brush that works for the mesh piece that contains the blade.

As with any juicer, clean-up is always easier immediately after juicing.

Size wasn’t a deal breaker for me, but I do like that this juicer is significantly smaller than my previous one. I’m not a fan of keeping appliances on the kitchen counter, so I can appreciate that this one is easy to store in the cabinet.

If you’re looking for something even smaller, Crate and Barrel did have a few other juicers that were even smaller than this one.

I made a quick video review:

Please excuse me if I mispronounced the name of the brand. Also, I figured out what the rubber spout cover is for. It helps direct juice into a smaller vessel like a standard sized glass. Hope you enjoy and subscribe to my channel.

Other Features

This Breville Cold Juice Fountain is pretty quiet which comes in handy if I need to juice early in the morning or late at night.

It also comes with a pitcher that fits around the spout for the juice to flow directly into. You can then twist the pitcher shut and store it. Anything that makes the morning run more efficiently is always going to be a bonus for me.

This juicer also has two speed settings. This feature works well for any juicer recipes that may have a combination of types of fruits and vegetables.

These are my initial thoughts about this juicer, but if you have any other questions or would like me to do an update, comment, or connect with me on Instagram.
