2-Ingredient Cranberry Sauce

Pin this post.Cranberry sauce is one of those holiday staples that I opted out of as a child. Even then I knew that canned-shaped blob wasn’t for me.

My first Thanksgiving as a real adult was spent in Dallas. I couldn’t go home for Thanksgiving because I worked in retail and had to be at work for Black Friday, so my husband and I did a mini Thanksgiving dinner. There was one challenge, he really likes cranberry sauce.

After checking out a few Pinterest recipes, I realized that most of them were basically the same. They just had some variations in additions.

This recipe is so simple and fits into almost everyone’s diet plan including paleo, vegan or raw vegan. The only diet that might be opposed to this one is keto or low carb because of the sugar in the OJ. But it’s so delicious those folks can save up their sugars/carbs/calories for it.

It also helps that this homemade Cranberry sauce recipe contains some fibroid-fighting nutrients like loads of Vitamins C, A, E, K, and magnesium to name just a few.

Recipe:

1 cup OJ (no sugar added)

12 oz Cranberries

Pour cranberries and OJ into a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. When the mixture comes to a boil, turn the heat down and simmer for 2-5 mins, depending on how “mushy” you like your cranberry sauce. Serve chilled.

Optional Additions:

  • Pecans, sliced almonds, or other nuts

  • Crushed pumpkin seeds or other ground seeds

  • Cinnamon

  • Orange or lemon peel

  • Ginger

  • Raisins
